    is there evidence that performance on this test is correlated to being an effective physician?

    • @Shemmassian

      Great question! We're not aware of research presenting longitudinal data that associates Casper performance with performance at a physician. Part of that may be due to Casper not being around for a super long time.

    The AMCAS website says "Non-participating schools do not have access to PREview scores until all admissions decisions are complete." so i am confused if it is sent to all schools?

    • @Shemmassian
      @Shemmassian День тому

      Starting with the 24-25 cycle (i.e., applying in 2024 to matriculate in 2025), PREview is being sent to schools that require it. At the end of the cycle, the score will be released to the other schools (likely for research purposes).

    Regarding a prompt like prompt #2 that does not apply in my case, am I supposed to leave it blank? I’ve heard the case where optional essays aren’t really “optional” and you should try to fill them in.

    • @Shemmassian
      @Shemmassian 13 днів тому

      Hello! The prompt reads: (Optional) If you interrupted your college education for a semester or longer, please describe what you did during that time. (2000 characters) Given the conditional language, you are correct in that you can leave this one blank. "Optional not really being optional" depends on the specific prompt. In this case, if you have not experienced an interruption of one or more semesters, the prompt doesn't apply to you.

      While we're not sure about the question you're thinking of, we recommend a different approach. For instance, if asked about your plans 5 or 10 years from now, you could begin with something like, "This is something I look forward to actively pursuing during med school. At this point, I've been very interested in..." But no, if your interviewer asks you to "tell them about yourself," we don't recommend an "I don't know" response. ;)

    hey there, I m in my first year of bachelors of physiotherapy in india. I want to go to Harvard medical school. What would med schools favor more- 1. Undergrad from a US state uni(after taking transfer from india)? 2. Undergrad from india, but a masters(MMSc immunology for eg) from an Ivy like Harvard( provided I get in). If I choose transfer, I ll be limited to state unis cz of my course and fees. For masters, however, I can apply to ivies as well. *(In either case, I ll supplement my education with a post-bacc pre-med program as well)
